Weekly Reminder #2

Did you talk to your graduate? How do they want to
celebrate? Remember to keep
them involved.
Have you picked your date and
location? If not, see last week’s
e-newsletter. Have you considered sharing a party with
a close friend or relative?
In this e-mail we’ll talk about:
-
Your invitation list
- Planning for out-of-town guests.
Your invitation list:
How do you decide who to invite? An easy place to
start is your holiday card list. You can take some
people off if you don't think it’s appropriate. Add
your neighbors, friends and maybe even coworkers.
Be sure to get your graduate involved in the process.
In addition to their friends, they may want to invite some
of their favorite teachers and coaches – past or present.
Does your graduate want to invite the parents of their
friends? If so, mail them an invitation addressed to
the whole family. Don't count on your graduate to
deliver invitations. As you start receiving
invitations to parties, be prepared to add other graduates’
parents to your invitation list.
As you prepare your list, keep a copy of the addresses to
be used later by your graduate for sending thank you cards.
We’ll talk about invitations in our next e-mail.
Planning for out-of-town guests?
Are you hoping to have out-of-town guests? Let them
know your schedule.
Are you going to invite them to stay at your home? Or
will they be staying at a hotel?
Create a list of hotels, telephone numbers, prices and
availability.
Keep in mind that your graduate is going to have a lot of
exciting activities going on, so don’t expect them to spend
the whole week sitting home with grandma…
TIP: Invite the
most helpful member of your family to stay at your home.
Also, don’t ask your graduate to give up their room for
guests as this is a special and stressful time for them.
Can’t wait for the next e-mail?
